General Terms and Conditions of Sale for visits and room hire
Preamble:
In order to limit abuse, we are obliged to apply strict general terms and conditions of sale.
ARTICLE 1: OBJECT AND GENERAL PROVISIONS
These general terms and conditions govern the activity of the Association des Amis du Musée Vodou, located at 4 rue de koenigshoffen, 67000 STRASBOURG.
They are brought to the attention of any natural or legal person wishing to make a purchase via this website or for any ticket purchased on one of our partners' websites and set out the contractual provisions and conditions applicable to any booking made for a museum visit or products sold online.
In addition, the General Terms and Conditions also apply to any purchase made through direct contact (telephone, sales appointment, email, etc.) and detail the rights and obligations of the Vodou Museum Friends Association and its client. As soon as a visitor enters the premises, it is tacitly understood that they agree to these General Terms and Conditions.
These General Terms and Conditions apply to the sale of the following activities: rental of space for private events (company buyouts), guided tours for groups or individuals, conferences, themed evenings, sale of merchandise, sale of related products, sale of «murder party» style services, sale of gift vouchers, sale of products related to the main activity, sale of literature, and sale of all types of beverages.
Therefore, any activity proposed by the Association des amis du musée Vodou implies the buyer's unreserved acceptance of these general terms and conditions of sale. None of the conditions below are intended to prejudice, and in no case diminish, the rights of participants.
ARTICLE 2: APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction. These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are effective from 1st October 2020 (updated on 17/12/21).
ARTICLE 3: ACTIVITY
The Association, non-profitmaking, is intended to support the VODOU MUSEUM (or any other social denomination that may subsequently replace it) in its development and influence in France and internationally. To this end, the association will endeavour to implement, in particular:
– all means which allow to develop visitor numbers for the Museum, its accessibility to all audiences, and knowledge of its programme, through improvements as well as communication actions.
– all means tending to promote the research, training, scientific and cultural activities, national and international, of the Museum
– all steps aimed at soliciting donations, bequests, or loans from patrons and partners, whether French or foreign.
– all participation activities in the Museum's programming by organising, supporting and promoting cultural and scientific events (exhibitions, shows, competitions, events...).
– all means allowing the enrichment, acquisition, conservation, restoration, of collections and their publications.
– organising meetings and working time, in public or private, in order to implement its objectives
– The marketing and sale of merchandise related to the museum shop and any activity carried out in accordance with the association's statutes. The marketing of merchandise and the carrying out of cultural and scientific activities (such as guided tours) necessary for receiving the public within the framework of the cultural programme (such as the sale of drinks and light refreshments). The provision of premises and the rental of seminar spaces dedicated to hosting groups of people, and all associated services.
ARTICLE 4: QUOTATION
Any request for a quote, made by a potential visitor to the Friends of the Museum Association, will be considered firm once the document has been returned, signed or at least validated by agreement, by any means whatsoever (email, post, etc.), and sent to the association.
Agreement of the quote will result in the validation of the activity and will block the guided tour slots. The service will therefore be firm, and cancellation conditions will apply from this moment.
An option can be taken out if it is done more than 15 days before the event. We invite you to consult the cancellation conditions for more details on this point.
Upon signing the quote, or written confirmation of the booking confirmation email, the client declares that they have read and accepted these General Terms and Conditions.
The quotation constitutes a price proposal for which the client, or their authorised representative on their behalf, expressly declares they have the necessary power, authority, and capacity to conclude it and to fulfil the obligations incumbent upon them.

The online shop also allows payment via Stripe and PayPal.

The validity period of an option is the duration for which the provider agrees to reserve the slot for the activity to be carried out for the client without financial commitment. If the client does not confirm (in writing) the option before the deadline, the option expires and the slot is released.
To confirm an option, professionals will need to make a deposit payment before its expiry and return the signed quote or any other agreement by email or in writing.
On the day of the visit: if visitors are 15 minutes or more late for their reserved time, the association reserves the right to cancel the visit or shorten it by the amount of time they are late.
For guided tours, the number of visitors is not fixed before the visit itself. Only a minimum number of people, depending on the chosen option, is required (therefore, if a group arrives with fewer than the planned minimum, the price for the minimum will be charged). The minimums and prices are those in effect on the website.
A fee of 100% will be payable in the event of cancellation less than 72 hours before the event (the amount will be determined based on the number of participants stated at the time of booking or as specified in the quotation).

In case of cancellation, please contact us by email at least 7 days before the visit. If this deadline is exceeded, a fee of 35 euros will be charged.
